GRAMIN MODEL UNITED NATIONS
6th - 8th July'18
SECRETARY GENERAL'S MESSAGE:
Dear Delegates and Faculty advisor,
It is my absolute honour to invite and welcome you all, as Founder President and Secretary General to the Gramin Model United Nations going to held on 6-8 July 2018 at The Theme Hotel, Jaipur.
Model United Nations (MUNs) are a formalised debating platform, where students are getting to experience the environment of the actual UN. Since they represent the delegations of various countries in this conference, they get to learn about foreign diplomacy, international politics, and about different approaches to each scenario. As a co-curricular exercise, these conferences have been in India for over a decade, and many prestigious institutions across the country hold annual MUN conferences.
The issue that MUN conferences have been suffering is the inclusivity of students across economic backgrounds. Because of the high delegate fees, and the committees of the conference only communicating in English, it creates a barrier for the students of the lower economic background to understand the concept of MUN and restricts them from experiencing this extension of formal debate.
We have worked hard to get you an innovative conference where Poor and Underprivilege students can also be the part of debate and discussion. The fees for these delegates would be taken care of and will have a separate committee to eradicate language barrier.
Gramin Model United Nations being hosted at an international level promises the quality of debate and experience that will help initiate an addiction of MUN-ing for the first timers and motivating force for the experienced delegates to keep MUN-ing.
I look forward to meeting all of you at Gramin MUN 2018-19.
SINCERELY
PARTH GUPTA
(SECRETARY GENERAL – GRAMIN MUN)
